What You Will Need:
-
The coat hook
-
Tape measure
-
Pencil
-
Drill
-
Piloting drill bit
-
Level
-
Screwdriver
-
Screws (screws come supplied with all of our coat hooks on Oak & Forge)
Fitting Instructions
-
With your new coat hook to hand, firstly work out the position that you want the coat hook to be on the door. You may want this to be around the general head height position so it’s easy to use.
-
If you are fitting just one coat hook, you would place it in the centre of the door and make a mark using a pencil. If you are fitting two coat hooks, work out your ideal preference of the space between the coat hooks, and work out the markings after finding the centre point of the door.
-
As you can see with our ‘Honeybag’ coat hook pictured above, there is a plate with screw holes on either side. So once you have found the centre of your door and the position you would like, then place the hook in the centre of the door on your markings, ensuring it is level using a level, and mark the screw holes from the coat hook onto your door using a pencil.
-
Now, using the pilot drill bit, drill slightly into your screw hole markings into the door, this will make it easier to screw the coat hook into place.
-
Then place the coat hook over your markings and using a screwdriver or drill, screw the coat hook to the door with the screws supplied.
-
Check the coat hook is level and secure, and you’re ready to start using it!
We hope you found our step by step guide on installing coat hooks helpful. Coat hooks are a wonderful, and functional way to add storage and style to your interior, those final finishing touches are everything!
